Protection of Vulnerable Citizens and Borrowers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Athens Bar Association (DSA) reiterates its commitment to protecting financially vulnerable citizens and borrowers. This comes in response to recent actions by banks, funds, and servicers seeking access to the “Hellenic Cadastre” electronic application, attempting to exclude lawyers who have this access right as part of their duties. The Bar Association strongly opposes this move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opposition to the New Bankruptcy Code<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legal community has consistently opposed provisions of the New Bankruptcy Code (Law 4738\/2020), which fails to adequately protect vulnerable debtors, especially regarding their primary residence. The Bar also calls for effective legislative protection of vulnerable borrowers and for extending the regulatory framework of Article 938 of the Code of Civil Procedure to currently excluded cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continued Targeted Abstention from Mortgage Registrations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Tuesday, October 22, 2024, to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, lawyers will abstain from filing and discussing cases for the registration of mortgages (but not their cancellation). This applies to both authorized lawyers and those registered under Law 5095\/2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suspension of cases related to the cancellation of mortgages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Targeted Abstention from Payment Orders and Enforcement Actions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Monday, October 21, 2024, to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, lawyers will abstain from filing and serving payment orders and enforcement actions from banks, funds, and servicers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continued Abstention Due to Issues with the New Judicial Map:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From October 22 to 29, 2024, lawyers will abstain from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
